Land Water Air Activity
In Montessori education, there are many activities that help children learn about different concepts and develop various skills. Instructions:
Download and print out our Autumn themed Land, Air, and Water Sorting Printable.
Laminate for longer use. After cutting cards, draw with a marker or stick dot stickers to the back of each set – one color for each set.
Explain to your child that each picture represents either land, air, or water.
Ask your child to sort the pictures by placing them in the correct category on the first page of the printable.
After the child completed the task, invite him or her to flip the cards and self-check. Each card has to be under the correct category based on the dot color.
Young children can be encouraged to match picutres when printed twice or draw and color Land Air Water cards using their choice of art medium.
Older children might be inspired to research and create their own books on the topic.
This activity is a great way for your child to develop their critical thinking and categorization skills. They’ll also learn more about the different modes of transportation and animals found in our world.
